Musikfest Day 1 gets started despite some big problems.

Ahh yes Musikfest is back and its August too. The first day however was not to go as smoothly as we would have liked. After returning home from work and having a lovely bowl of zuchini stew, very tasty indeed, we were all ready to get going for day one of Musikfest 2008. We rounded up the troops and off we went. Driving to Bethlehem takes about 15 minutes, well 10 minutes into the drive and the power in the old car seemed to drop a lot and the car started to come to a stuttering slow crawl. We had to slow down and with hazard lights flashing we wondered what was happening. Was our old crap car about to die? Did we run out of fuel? We got off the main road as car drove by parping their horns. FO people! The car came to a dieing stop. So we got out and had a look, finally we had to call my father in law and hope that with some gas the car would start. Otherwise if that did not work we would have to have it towed back.
The father in law came with a cannister of fuel we put it in and with baited breath started the car. Fantastic!!! it started and we realised that I had not filled the tank the last time as we usually do and with the fuel gauge not working it must be estimated about how much there is still left in the tank. Perhaps I didnt do that so well this time. Well with tank having a few drops of fuel now we set out to find a gas station to fill up. The first one we came to was closed because of Musikfest. We drove around afraid we would run out of gas again and finally, finally we got to a station where I got $20 dollars worth about 40% of the tank capacity.
We drove to our usual parking spot in a neighbourhood where probably everyone knows each other and we probably look like strangers and walked to the center of the Musikfest. It was a nice feeling to after all the hassles be finally at the fest. We walked on to the Runa Pacha tent where the group from the Andes play they can found on youtube - check them out. They had changed their appearance slightly in that two of them were in what may have been traditional dress and they had thick face make-up in a weird way they reminded me of members of Kiss.
