Robert Pires, Arsenal 2000-2006
I found this superb video on youtube and I have to say it got me teary eyed. This player was an integral part of a fantastic team, legendary names played alongside Pires and speaking from my point of view, while watching this I couldn't help but think what truly exceptional sporting years they were. I am proud to say I witnessed Pires at his best scoring againgst Leeds Utd in a 1-1 draw. Just some classic memories to feast on.

The sad thing is that some of wengers "principles" in only giving 1 year extension to players over 32 has robbed us of a player like Pires who definitely could have done a good job on the wing for Arsenal. Hleb has only 3 goals this season and Pires regularly notched double figure tallys, not to mention many many assists. Who knows what might have happened this year if Pires was still at Arsenal. You will always miss a player of his undoubted class.
